JOYning Hands is a nonprofit organization that helps struggling schools, children, families and pets in Armenia. We are collaborating with other organizations whose mission is also to help those in need.
JOYning Hands will be using subscription boxes that has handmade items from Armenian artisans who have no other means of selling their products in Armenia. Therefore, not only would we be helping those in need, but we would be providing an avenue to boost the country's economic productivity through our subscription boxes.
This all began when my mother, Zevart, started helping a school in Armenia that was in need of some help. She sewed them curtains, blankets, raised money to fix their kitchen, bathroom, whatever their needs were. Her love and passion in helping has been passed down to me, as her life was cut short during one of her trips to Armenia. A head on car collision took her life but not her soul. That’s why I chose to name this non profit organization JOYning Hands. Her name, Zevart means Joy in Armenian and because she always lent a hand to anyone in need.
I look forward to JOYning anyone who wants to make this world a little better and give a purpose to our lives, and hope to those who need it.
Sincerely,
Annie Ouzounian Sawinski

JOYn me! Together we will make a difference!!!
Let’s not just be victims, let’s not be known for shallow things such as “LV” “BMW” people, let’s not be known to just be selfish. Let’s get together and let the world know that there’s a reason why we are survivors and why we are on this earth! Not to just march and cry about the past, but to do good and show that the future and our people are more than just what we lost but what we can do!
JOYn me to show the world the good we can do! To show the world that Armenians are more than just victims of the past. We are here to stay and we will make a world a better place because when we come together as a group we are a force to be reckoned with!
I started JOYning Hands because I was looking for a purpose in my life. I have been working 10 to 14hr days, I go home sleep and get up and repeat. There seemed to be no end to that. I would think each day, what in the world am I doing here on this earth? Is it really just to work and pay bills? Did my ancestors survive a genocide and my parents escaped war from Lebanon, and I beat cancer for what?
Then my mom’s voice came to my ears and the vision of her helping schools in Armenia was in front of me. She gave herself a purpose to live for and so I want to continue that purpose.
I named my non-profit organization JOYning Hands because my mom’s name is Zevart, which means Joy in English. So with her honor and our hands joined together I know we can do a lot of good.
And not to JUST help schools in Armenia. I want to help pets and kids and families wherever it’s needed. I want to JOYn other organizations to help their cause too! I want everyone to JOYn me to really make a difference in this world. Let’s leave a dent of GOOD things behind and GOOD examples to the next generation to follow. We followed the victim role too much, time for change!
So what do you say….will you JOYn me?
